Association of Power Utilities of Africa

APUA is a continental, non-profit organization that brings together power utility in Africa, as well as African and foreign organizations whose activities contribute to the development of the African electricity sector. It was founded in 1970. Its headquarters are in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. It was formerly known as the Union des Producteurs, Transporteurs et Distributeurs d'Energie Electrique d'Afrique (UPDEA).
