ESCOM (Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi) is Malawi's state-owned electricity generation and distribution company. Established in 1964, it is the country's leading electricity utility.
ESCOM generates electricity from sources such as hydroelectricity, fossil fuels and renewable energies, including solar and wind power. The company supplies electricity to both domestic and industrial consumers, as well as to the governments of neighboring countries such as Mozambique and Zambia.
